Whatever You Wish To Keep
a memoir in pictures - second edition, Leaf in Pocket Press
This intimate little volume is an homage to the wordless novels of Frans Masereel, Otto Nückel and Lynd Ward. Comprised of 149 graphite pencil drawings, it's essentially a travelogue of my youthful misadventures. Foreword by Frank Gaard. Purchase it from me here, or consider ordering it from a store that supports DEI such as Barnes & Noble, or your local independent bookseller. Reviews welcome!

The L Word
The L word is Love in this excerpt from Snow Emergency Route. See how an adoptive mother/daughter relationship can change when the latter removes herself to the other side of the planet! I spun this yarn in just 7 full color pages. This activity is made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, thanks to appropriations from the Minnesota State Legislature's general and arts and cultural heritage funds.

Do you make allowances for odd occurrences?
I sure do, as you will see in this chapter from Swing or Symphony! I'm so excited about this graphic memoir about my late great dad, that I'm sharing a chapter (warts and all) in pencil and ink sketch form. Coloring work will commence next winter on this tome. Funded in part by a fiscal year 2023 Creative Support for Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. Color Issue
2023
I have a two-page dispatch comic in The Nib! Truly over the moon to have a non-fiction explainer piece in a pub I'm ideologically simpatico with. It's all about hair, and color, and Mr. Freezes, and Melanocytes.

Diary Excerpts, November 2021
This four-page submission came about when my cat Penny Lane died and then my Dad died three weeks later. So no filter involved. I've kept a diary off and on since 1973 so when they said "diary" I was like alrighty then, a diary excerpt you shall have!

A SAW Graphic Memoir Anthology

Sea Monkeys and Phenobarbital is an eight-page excerpt from an early version of my graphic memoir in progress Snow Emergency Route. Here I discuss my origins at a Salvation Army home. My adoptive mom and assorted adoptee feels are introduced as well.

Socially Distant (SOLD OUT)
SAW Pandemic Comics Anthology

Dad's Bout with Covid-19 is a two-page comic. It is not very comic at all, though. At age ninety-eight my pops survived this nasty killer virus, but it exacerbated his many other health issues and he passed away later that year. A story I'm sure many others can relate to, sadly.

Prologue from the Sheridan Memoirs is kind of like the single that's not being included on the album. I have since created a different opening to the story. I still like this piece though, and what a catalyst it was! The Sheridan Memoirs refers to two books, graphic memoirs in progress Snow Emergency Route and Swing or Symphony.

Mini-memoir comic
2020
The mini-memoir comic Shambala is a meditation on road trips to New Jersey in the 1970s in a car with no AC and a scratchy AM radio.
"A piece of the slow dreamlike sensory atmosphere and sound of summers past, brought back to me via this beautiful little book... thank you!!!"
